Disney+ and Hulu Are Getting More Expensive Starting October 2025

Price Hikes Coming to Disney+ and Hulu in October 2025

Starting October 21, 2025, Disney will raise the prices of several streaming plans across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. Whether you’re subscribed to a standalone plan or one of the bundles, chances are you’ll see your monthly or yearly rate go up.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the upcoming changes.

New Disney+ Subscription Prices

If you’re a Disney+ subscriber, here’s what to expect:

  • Disney+ with ads:
Going up by $2/month, from $9.99 to $11.99/month
  • Disney+ Premium (no ads):
    Increasing by $3/month, from $15.99 to $18.99/month
  • Disney+ Premium annual plan:
    Rising by $30/year, from $159.99 to $189.99/year

Hulu’s Price Changes

Hulu subscribers will also see changes:

  • Hulu with ads:
Price jumps from $9.99 to $11.99/month
  • Hulu (no ads):
    Stays the same at $18.99/month

Bundle Price Increases

Disney is also increasing prices for bundles that include multiple services:

  • Disney+ and Hulu (with ads) bundle:
    Rising by $2, from $10.99 to $12.99/month
  • Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select (with ads) bundle:
Going up by $3, from $16.99 to $19.99/month
  • ESPN Select standalone:
    Increases from $11.99 to $12.99/month

A full list of the updated pricing can be found on Disney’s official support page.

Why the Timing Feels Off

The announcement comes at a sensitive time for Disney. Just last week, a wave of Disney+ users reportedly canceled their subscriptions in protest over the company’s decision to temporarily remove Jimmy Kimmel’s content from its platform. The backlash has cast a shadow over what would otherwise be a standard price adjustment.

A Look Back: From $6.99 to Nearly $19

Disney+ launched in 2019 with a budget-friendly price tag of just $6.99/month. Since then, it’s steadily followed the industry trend of price increases. The last round of hikes came in October 2024, when:

  • The ad-free Disney+ plan jumped from $13.99 to $15.99/month
  • The ad-supported plan rose from $7.99 to $9.99/month

Now, one year later, prices are rising again—some by as much as 30%.

Bottom Line: Is It Still Worth It?

With Disney+, Hulu, and other streaming platforms continuing to raise prices, many subscribers are beginning to reassess which services are worth keeping. If you’re a fan of Marvel, Star Wars, or Hulu originals, the decision might still be easy—but for casual viewers, these price hikes could tip the scale.
